ABOUT : J.R. Finnie O.L.S.
Ontario Land Surveyor:
Our company has been accredited by the A.O.L.S. (Association of Ontario Land Surveyors) and adheres to strict guidelines, policies and good business practices in the fulfillment of our professional duties. As an O.L.S. we are responsible for a concise and accurate professional opinion based on meticulous practices in research and field observation. The legal property boundaries must be documented and monuments located in accordance with the strict policies outlined for all O.L.S. members. Services: Our company completes a variety of research tasks in conjunction with our surveys. Our extensive background provides us with good planning skills in order to facilitate all steps in the development process. This in turn will save you, time and money. We possess a wealth of experience in dealing with a variety of Municipal and Conservation policies and their respective solutions. Through the course of our required research we verify that there are no discrepancies in the deed descriptions of your property and its surroundings. Many times the researched history of the creation of your lot leads as far back as the early 1800’s, to the original crown patents. Equipment: Depending on the type of survey required we employ a wide variety of equipment. Equipment selection is based on several factors including information required, crew demands, site details, time of year, budget and time constraints. For topographic work we use a Geodimeter 600 robotic total station, which allows for a field crew of one to collect a wealth of detailed, descriptive information. In other cases a field crew of two uses the First Order - Focus to accurately collect the necessary data and monument boundaries. The information is then transferred to a computer running Microsurvey CAD, where the drafting and labeling takes place. In order to integrate control into our plans we use a pair of Ashtech, single phase, G.P.S. receivers. These occupy two simultaneous points at any time alternating between published benchmarks and reference points on site. |
